Information Technology

Information Technology and the Information Systems that run Information Technology. Provide us with the highly connected world we all live in today.  The backbone of our connected life and the medium which has accelerated our lives like no other innovation, in history.

Today, unlike when my career started; we carry more and more information with us as we go about our daily lives. From the days of large mainframe systems to the home-based personal computer, to now the smartphone device, we have grown and accelerated technology in means and ways only in our imagination just 20 years ago.

Starting Out in Information Technology

It was 20 years ago, I made the discussion to change my schooling to focus on learning and study on the practices of Information Technology.  No other field at the time offered as much depth as the information technology field.

It was a potential to help others succeed while growing personally in my personal interests.  That drew my interest commitment to a career path in Information Technolgy. A student of arts, business, and marketing.  Information systems and their technologies introduced the right fit.

Career Path

I was introduced to many different segments of information technology from my days in school, and throughout my career.  Not shying away from new challenges, I captured every opportunity to grow as an information technologist.  While many focus on one technical aspect, it was with an open mind that I have branched my knowledge into three many focuses of Information technology.

Supporting clients and persons who need a greater understanding of technology has been the greatest segment of my career.  A segment of Information technology known as administration, implementation, and support. Information Technology Sales and Project Management took root in my daily activities. With a strong focus on the technology used in businesses and homes each day. Sales of information technology to clients came naturally.   Working in a medium sized technology business, faced with client support requests to increase productivity, sales lead to the project management side of my career.

Often, when a sale is made in information technology, there is strong need to plan the implementation, deployment, and training of that new technology.  Championing the six sigma project management skill, along with undertaking the Project Management Institute training for a project manager.  Training and understanding become the basis of outstanding customer service skills and presentation.

With outstanding customer service skills and a reputation in the industry of sharing new idea’s and finding solutions to problems, led my career to the marketing industry and clients requiring websites, content marketing, under at the time what was known as Internet Marketing.  It was internet marketing that greatly increased the knowledge of information technology.

Informational marketing applications for smart-phones, websites, social media, graphics and photography arts. Provided clients not only to get known to those around them but also to demonstrate my skills in personal interests. My career was no longer a job, but a life’s work in development and growth of personal talents.

Information Technology Today

Today personal talents influence and drive my passion in the multi-disciplined practitioner of Information Technology.  Supporting clients is still my main focus, using skills and offerings from my sales, support, management, and
